Deb Armstrong introduces Kent's Clinic.

Kent gives a parallel demonstration

The Kent's Clinic DVD ski instruction video includes four clinics, each about 12 minutes long. Deb Armstrong introduces each clinic, and describes issues to which you might pay particular attention. The four clinics are as follows:

Clinic 1: Moving Inside activity list

The core has to go too, but where? How much is the core involved in the turn? Kent shows us what we must do with the upper body, and it's action is an integral part of turn initiation, edge change, and moving down the hill. Isn't moving downhill what it's all about? Kent shows us the move, and as you'll see, it's the same move, no matter what level skier you are.

Clinic 2: Simultaneous Skis activity list

Do your skis move simultaneously? How do we guide a beginner to parallel? And how are these same moves used in the most advanced terrain?

Clinic 3: Balancing Against the Ski activity list

Where does one balance through the turn, and how does one know they're balanced? In this clinic, Kent considers balancing against the ski instead of over the ski. It's an important and critical distinction that is explored at all skier levels.

Clinic 4: Using Ski Technology activity list

The arc or sidecut of a ski is no longer a "new" feature in a true sense of the word, but using that technology can still be a challenge, especially if you learned to ski more than ten years ago. Kent starts slow and progresses through a series of steps to show how a skier can use the ski's sidecut to best advantage.
